    Dear Chris, Your Timeline data is now locally stored on your smartphone, that is why the Takeout files are "empty". Check if you can see any trips at all in your Google maps app. If you have data you can still export it from your phone but I just didn't have the capacity to update my extension to handle those files.     Dear Nat, I'm sorry it doesn't work, I haven't had the opportunity to work full-time on this extension to tackle this issue. Timeline is stored locally on mobile devices instead of your Google account so as long as this is the case, the Takeout files won't include any Timeline data. My sponsor has it all figured out though: MileageWise can integrate Timeline data that is locally stored on phones.     The extension didn't work but I followed what Mark recommended. I used MileageWise to process my mobile timeline files and it worked. Thanks Mark!

    UPDATE MileageWise can now integrate Timeline data that is locally stored on phones! I will investigate if there is a bug on my end for the next update. Also, the fact that Takeout can provide a JSON for the year doesn't necessarily mean that it includes data at all. So you might want to try again or check if you still have your trips in your Timeline. Yes I'm afraid that MileageWise will be the only option soon. Best, Mark
