    The entries "newtab" and https://www.google.com won't match new tab pages. Duplicate detection fires while the URL is still chrome://newtab/, before the page navigates to your homepage, so whitelisting your homepage address has no effect. The correct whitelist entry is chrome://newtab/. That said, chrome:// URL matching in the whitelist was likely not working in older versions. Please update to v4.2.4 and retry with chrome://newtab/ in the whitelist. A dedicated option to ignore new tab pages entirely is also planned for a future version.
