    Main feature works, but with the caveat that it eventually will keep opening uninteractable tabs until it runs out of memory...

    It works. I tried three different extensions, and this is the only one that worked for me. The pinned tab is added to every window, which is what I was looking for, so all your windows are protected. If you want to close a protected window, you need to press Shift + Cmd + W. Additionally, it allows you to set a custom URL for the pinned tab or to prevent focusing it.

    When a new window is created due to a tab being dragged out of the existing one the extension does not work – there is no pinned tab in this new window. Could this be fixed? (I'm using version 5.0)
